Minimalism as Simple Geometry
Photo By © Prakash Ghai Buy Now |
A Minimalist Photograph of a Yellow Circle and Blue Semicircle placed on a brown textured wall at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur.
These were handmade circular discs placed at the Entrance wall of Jawahar Kala Kendra. Actually it is a huge wall and it was decorated up to the brim.
All I could spot was a lot of clutter but at the same time I was tempted to carve out a few Simple Minimalist Photographs. I kept thinking and thinking and thinking.
Then my eyes got stuck on these Two Circles. Yes Two Circles, the big Blue Circle and the Small Yellow one.
I thought why not use these to compose a Simple Geometry Minimalist Photograph. The problem was, that the Blue Circle was way too big for me to incorporate it with the Yellow one within the frame and create a sensible Photo Composition.
Therefore, I decided to crop the Big Blue Circle into about half and made it look like a Semicircle in the frame.
Then, I placed the the small Yellow Circle on the top left corner of the frame. This also made me show the interaction between the Two Geometric Shapes and to show some perspective. It also helped me leave some negative space in the frame, both between the circles and to the right of them.
